Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) Authorizes $30 Billion Share Repurchase Program

Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) announced Friday that it had authorized a new share repurchase program of up to $30 billion. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission Friday, Goldman Sachs said its board of directors approved a new share repurchase program to replace its existing one. The repurchase program has no set expiration or termination date.

Goldman Sachs raised NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) target price to $275 from $226

Goldman Sachs reported that NVIDIA’s (NASDAQ:NVDA) fiscal fourth quarter results were impressive, with non-GAAP ex-board (SBC) earnings of $0.88 per share, 9% higher than market expectations, mainly due to increased gaming revenue and strict expense management. Goldman Sachs upgraded the rating of Nvidia from neutral to buy, and raised its target price to $275 from $226, reflecting a renewed acceleration in growth.

Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) eliminated its direct-to-consumer credit card program

According to CNBC, Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) abandoned plans to develop Goldman Sachs-branded credit cards aimed at individual users after deciding to shift its focus from retail banking to other areas. A Goldman Sachs spokesman said the company discussed the idea of exclusive credit cards for consumers, but that did not become an important part of the bank’s strategy.

Goldman Sachs downgraded Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN) to “neutral” with a price target of $66

Goldman Sachs analyst Adam Samuelson downgraded Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN) from Buy to Neutral and lowered its price target to $66 from $91. The analyst said the company’s first-quarter results showed a sharp deterioration in profitability across the organization and a disappointing shift in margins in its chicken business. He added that with cyclical headwinds from declining cattle supply set to increase in fiscal year 2024-2025 and further weigh on profitability in the beef business, continued profitability improvement in chicken and prepared foods is critical to its previous positive rhetoric about Tyson Foods.
